Lake Taneycomo is a man-made lake on the White River in the Ozark Mountains of Taney County, Missouri. The lake is named for Taney County, MO in which it is located.

Lake Taneycomo flows right through historic downtown Branson and Branson Landing. Activities on and around Lake Taneycomo in Branson, Missouri are almost endless. Whether you enjoy  boating, sailing, hunting, hiking, scuba diving, and, of course, fishing,  the area is ready for your visit!  Lake Taneycomo's clear cold waters provide some of the finest trout fishing available anywhere in the world!

Lake Taneycomo has the characteristics of both a river and a lake. The upper 3 miles is a favorite for fly-fishing and waders. With the completion of Table Rock Dam, there are over 2,080 surface acres of water in Lake Taneycomo. The banks south of the Shepherd of the Hills Trout Hatchery have a nature trail and provide excellent access to the Lake for hiking, photo taking, or fishing.

 

There are some great scenic views around the lakes and Branson area. Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, you will see breathtaking views to rival anywhere. A camera is a must on your trip!
